Urbanics conducted a financial analysis for a retail, rental residential, and condo residential development in a prime Calgary location. On-the-ground retail market data was collected through conversations with local merchants and consumer intercept surveys. After rigorous financial analysis of all development components, the project was deemed unprofitable under any reasonable scenario — unsurprising given weak Calgary market conditions at the time. Urbanics helped the landowner and developer save potentially hundreds of millions of dollars on what would have been an ill-timed project.
