Town of Lake Cowichan Economic Readiness Assessment

Urbanics undertook an economic readiness assessment of the Town of Lake Cowichan and the surrounding Cowichan Valley Regional District. The study evaluated historical economic trends to identify opportunities for growth and to provide recommendations to enhance economic activity. The work included extensive stakeholder engagement activities, including an online survey, in-person interviews, and a focus group sesson. Urbanics found that the study area was experiencing a steady shift away from traditional sources of economic activity from goods-producing industries to service-producing industries. Urbanics provided the Client with seven actionable recommendations to enhance the local economy.
